We at Aero are proud to introduce this beautiful Traditional Irish roll neck sweater, stitched from 100% wool, weighing 1.5lb.
This pure wool sweater was made in Ireland, stitched from unchanged patterns since around 1860. The first versions of these sweaters were knitted by Kate O'Shea, who incorporated only authentic traditional Aran designs in her famous woollens.
Traditionally worn by fisherman as the sweater symbolised their hard work. With the cable stitch on this sweater representing an integral part of the fisherman's daily life, a wish for safety and good luck when fishing.
Back in the 1980s we had a fabulous ribbed fisherman's sweater which were very similar but with no polo neck. This new Irish version is even more stunning than the sweaters back then, as stitched from a perfected traditional technique.
