USAAF Type B-10 Flight Jacket

The B-10 was the first of the USAAF Cloth flight jackets. It was introduced in 1943 to replace the Type A2 when Hap Arnold decided that leather was a "luxury" flight crews could do without.

We offer the same Type B-10, same materials, same patterns, same wool jersey. These beautiful and warm flight jackets are made from Cotton Sateen that was dyed to match exactly a pair of Type A-11 deadstock flight pants. The shell is 100% Sateen Cotton Finished Olive Green.

It is lined in extremely warm and luxurious genuine imported alpaca wool woven to match the original specification lining . It has a genuine Mouton Fur collar in dark brown. The waistband and cuffs are, of course, 100% virgin wool. The jacket is fitted with a vintage style triple marked Talon Art Deco zipper or Conmar bell shaped zipper, both correct for the original Type B-10 contacts.

The B-10 was a military jacket that was also very popular as an easy to wear civilian jacket. It continues to influence civilian work and casual jackets today
