Another new Kid's jacket from Aero based on our "Dustbowl" jacket, this is a real time warp piece from the days most kids had a leather jacket but that jacket had to be all purpose, fit to stand up to everything that was thrown at it before being handed down to the next generation. Like those precious jackets from the 1930s, every usable piece of leather was utilised and our Kid's half belt reflects the enforced austerity brought on by The Great Depression. With money and resources stretched to their limits, jacket manufactures were very conscious of saving as much leather as possible when designing a new jacket. The fit is slim and neat, and, typically of the era, most of the seams on this multi panel jacket are triple stitched which adds to the strength and the unique character of the jacket.Panel configuration of this multi panel jacket may vary slightly from one jacket to the next but the overall feel of a genuine the 1930s will be faithfully replicated.
All materials used on our Kid's range are regular Aero grade but to keep the prices as low as possible these jackets are made mainly of from odd skins and large off cuts. This means there might be occasional slight mismatching of shade or grain, or scarring on the skins. In this case scarring and mismatched grain only adds to the authentic feel of a period jacket. Linings will generally be end of piece from one of our regular linings, choice may be limited We've found that the most reliable way to fit kids is by their height, our patterns are made to 3" height increments, with children growing so quickly we'd generally advise to get a jacket a wee bit on the large size but we are happy to advise.
As kids grow so quickly, we recommend ordering one size larger than their age/size at the moment so they have room to grow into it.
