This, the most recent addition to our Premier range, is basically a replica of the jacket worn by Toby Maguire in his role as Red Pollard in the film Seabiscuit. Ever since the film was released legend had it that Aero had made the film jacket - we didn't, we denied it but still the story rolls on. We believe it's an original early 1930s jacket, there is a styling clue that suggests it might be a Levi Jacket but we don't want to kick start the debate.
Our recreation of the film jacket is identical in every minute detail, it was a pleasure watching the brilliant film a few times in order to pick up those fine details that can't be seen on the actual film jacket in it's display in the Hollywood Movies Costumes and Props Museum.
If you're on the hunt for a replica of the Tobey Maguire leather jacket as worn as Red Pollard in Seabiscuit, the Premier Sea Biscuit leather jacket from Aero Leathers is perfect for you!
The Sea Biscuit replica jacket is a 1930s inspired design which features our premier cut (a slim fit with high cut armholes and sleeves), offering an even closer fit to the body than was typical of the slimmer fitting styles of this era.
Additionally, the jacket’s side adjusters can be cinched in at the natural waist to provide to achieve a more relaxed/fitted look around the waist. These features were all added to make the Premier Sea Biscuit as close to the original jacket as worn by Tobey Maguire as possible.
We normally recommend selecting your usual size for this style (typically the closest size to your expanded chest measurement) for a comfortably slim fit and the intended look. Very few people can comfortably size down in our Premier styles (and if you can, there will be little room for layering) and depending on your body type and what you intend to wear underneath the jacket, you may need to size up from your usual size.
For further general sizing information, please see our sizing FAQ section. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for there, please get in touch.
Don’t worry, all sizing information displayed here is only a guide. Every order placed is checked over by a member of our production team who will confirm your size selection against your measurements or recommend any necessary changes that need to be made. If you have any specific queries, you can note these in the special instructions box on the ‘measurements’ page when placing your order.
