It's common knowledge that when Levi Vintage was launched they worked hand in hand with Aero in the development of their new project for Levis. These Aero/Levi jackets are now collector's items selling on eBay for much more that the original retail price.

One of collaboration jackets was a recreation of a Levi design from the late 1940s, most were made in Whipcloth but a small number were made in Goastskin and these leather versions are the most sought after of all the Aero/Levi models. Over the years we have had many requests from customers to offer this style and, although we had the development work and patterns for the project, and Levis gave us permission to produce our own version once their jacket was sold out, we haven't offered the style until now.

The rare LVC jackets were named "Rock-a-Billy", we naming ours "The Rockafella". This is quite a complicated jacket, the styling is unique, probably initially designed to be made in Whipcloth rather than leather. The front has a sweeping curve top stitched either side of the seam with a breast pocket set into the seam. The jacket can be worn with lapels or buttoned up to the neck; the back is very fitted with tab and button waist adjustment alongside the half belt. We've changed nothing from the original jacket except the lining which was an over delicate rayon and of course, the label, these aren't Levi jackets after all, we've used a checked cotton lining very similar to one of several similar checked linings used by Levis both in the 1940s and in other LVC Aero made recreations.

This jacket is a 1940s inspired design which offers a fit which is slim fitting and a fairly straight and narrow cut.

We generally recommend selecting your usual size in this style (normally the one closest to your expanded chest measurement), however you may given the slim fit of this jacket you may need to size up depending on your body measurements and we wouldn’t recommend sizing down from your usual size.
