This unusual jacket is an exact replica of a rare and desirable design from the immediate post war years, cut with flair by “Windward” for Sears & Roebuck, the short neat fitting jacket offers both practicability and style.
It features two zippered breast pockets above two slash hand warmer pockets. A broad waist band, with elasticated sides. There are sewn down epaulettes. It has a one piece back with no yoke. The windward is a very short fitting jacket.
This jacket is a 1950s inspired design which offers a fit with quite a bit of room around the shoulders and chest which was typical of the more relaxed fitting styles of this era, however this style has a very heavy taper to the hem and is a shorter than standard cut.
We typically recommend ordering this style in your usual size and rarely advise sizing down due to this jacket's heavy taper. However, depending on your body shape, you may be able to size down for a more modern fitted look but this will need further discussion with our prodution team to ensure we can get the correct fit taking the taper into account.
