We only have a few last few pairs of our Border Patrol Boots in stock - sadly, they are the last of an icon, when they are gone they are gone.
Back in the 1980s we introduced a rather unique leather motorcycle boot inspired by a 1950s East German Border Patrol Boot. They were made exclusively for is in Northampton and production ended in 1993 when a Japanese Company took over our bootmaker’s business. These became collectors items during the 20 year period they weren't available until we finally found another British shoemaker who could recreate the boot to our satisfaction.
Our new model was upgraded to an exceptionally heavy Chromexcel Steerhide from Horween of Chicago and are fully lined in Sheepskin. Again, they are made in Northampton, England exclusively for Aero, they are Goodyear welted, fitted with a heavy Itside Commando sole sewn and screwed for extra strength and the top of the boot draws in with a strap and buckle so they are fully wind resistant. This is a traditional fully functional boot, not a fashion item but a purpose built motorcycle boot suitable for the very worst of weather, the type of boot that is impossible to find elsewhere these days.
Sadly, after 10 years making these for us, our second bootmaker has informed us that they no longer have staff with the specialist skills needed to make this boot due to retirements. Do not miss this opportunity to get what might be one of the last of these exceptional boots…as we say in Scotland “When will we see their likes again”.
